The Marr-Anderson Family Foundation provides philanthropic support to public charitable organizations for the purpose of encouraging education and health. The Marr-Anderson Family Foundation provides grants only to public charitable organizations that fall within Section 501(a)(1) or 501(a)(9) and that further these purposes.

The Marr-Anderson Family Foundation supports non-profit organizations that align with our mission to promote education, health and offer compassionate support during times of crisis. The foundation’s objective is to support organizations that further these efforts.

Organization Eligibility Requirements

1. Align with the Marr Anderson Family Foundation’s Mission
   Example of mission alignment include but are not limited to: scholarships, schools & universities, educational programming, mentorship programs, libraries, hospitals, behavioral health, patient & family services, youth & family services, medical research, arts, sports and recreations for mental and physical well-being

2. Serves our Geographic Priority Area: For unsolicited applications, charitable organizations must serve Maine communities.
3. Tax Exempt and in Good Financial Standing: must be classified as 501(c)(3) or 509(a)(1) or (2). We require financial reporting to assess the organization’s charitable commitment, fundraising efficiency, donor dependency and liquidity metrics to ensure they align with our standards. 
4. Returning organizations must submit a completion report before reapplying for funding
