The Marr-Anderson Family Foundation provides philanthropic support to public charitable organizations for the purpose of encouraging education and health. The Marr-Anderson Family Foundation provides grants only to public charitable organizations that fall within Section 501(a)(1) or 501(a)(9) and that further these purposes.

The Marr-Anderson Family Foundation supports non-profit organizations that align with our mission to promote education, health and offer compassionate support during times of crisis. The foundation’s objective is to support organizations that further these efforts.

Organization Eligibility Requirements

  1. Align with the Marr Anderson Family Foundation’s Mission
    Example of mission alignment include but are not limited to: scholarships, schools & universities, educational programming, mentorship programs, libraries, hospitals, behavioral health, patient & family services, youth & family services, medical research, arts, sports and recreations for mental and physical well-being
  1. Serves our Geographic Priority Area: For unsolicited applications, charitable organizations must serve Maine communities.
  2. Tax Exempt and in Good Financial Standing: must be classified as 501(c)(3) or 509(a)(1) or (2). We require financial reporting to assess the organization’s charitable commitment, fundraising efficiency, donor dependency and liquidity metrics to ensure they align with our standards. 
  3. Returning organizations must submit a completion report before reapplying for funding

If you are interested in applying for a grant, please fill out our eligibility quiz and LOI through our grantee portal. You will need to establish an account in order to fill out the application. It is important to use an email address that is designated for this purpose when setting up your account. 

Returning Users– If you have applied for a grant in the past through our grantee portal, please login using the appropriate email address and password for your account. 

If you have received funding from the Marr-Anderson Family Foundation and need to complete a progress report please login to the grantee portal or click below.

SCHOLARSHIPS FOR EDUCATION:

The Marr-Anderson Family Foundation offers scholarships for college and graduate education. We partner with universities & non-profit organizations in order to provide scholarships. Below are some of the organizations that we have partnered with:

  • University of Southern Maine- areas of study include Education and Business
  • University of Maine, Orono- areas of study include Engineering and Business
  • Maine Medical Center, Maine Track Scholarship Program
  • Olympia Snowe Women’s Leadership Institute Undergraduate Scholarships
  • Boys & Girls Club Undergraduate Scholarship
  • Saint Josephs College Nursing Scholarship
